How it Works
This web site is the public
face of AmericanPlatform.org.
The content will come from
members of this site, who will work together to create our positions
in the Members Forum. This is not a blog, where members post
and are automatically published. The forum is where topics and
ideas are brought forward, issues are researched, core values
considered, and where facts are checked and re-checked.
Members can group together
with other members who are passionate and knowledgeable about
a topic.
They can discuss among themselves
avenues of inquiry and possible solutions to problems, create
teams of researchers to find answers to important questions,
and put together position papers. The forum will enable members
to have ongoing conversations with other serious conservatives
about issues both topical and transcendant. Members can also
initiate and respond to polls taken among members to get and
give feedback.
Over time, decisions and
concrete positions will be reached. These decisions of the members
will then become the basis for the public positions of AmericanPlatform.org
and will be posted here. The most important and fundamental
positions will become official Planks in the American Platform
and will also be posted. And they will be monitored as time
goes by in case they need to be reexamined in light of changing
events.
Visitors to this site do
not have to become members, but will be able to read our positions
and judge for themselves whether or not they agree. If so, they
will eventually be able to digitally sign their desire to have
politicians run for office using the American Platform as a
foundation.
You'll notice that there
is no "Comments" area here. People will either agree
or disagree with what gets posted at American Platform.org,
and they are of course free to criticize us anywhere they'd
like. Comments posted on web sites are often off-target, rude,
or hateful, and they seldom add value. Therefore, this site
will not have a comments section. Our critics will have no trouble
finding other venues to post their opinions.
