The marketing function is a key component in any organization. With the ever advancing technology, most business has shifted their marketing strategies from the traditional ones and are adopting contemporary internet-based strategies. PodcastOne advertising has become one of the most trusted and effective marketing campaign strategy used by many businesses today. In one of the research conducted by Edison Research on behalf of PodcastOne to find out the effectiveness of podcast advertising found out this strategy is very effective in increasing the perception and awareness of new and existing brands.
The results which were conducted in the first half of 2016 for five national brands from both service and product industries were released by Norman Pattiz, the Executive Chairman of PodcastOne in conjunction with Tom Webster, The VP of Strategy at Edison Research. The results showed a tremendous impact of podcast advertising on the intention to purchase, brand recall as well as recall of specific messages. The research involved online surveys whereby the respondents of various leading podcasts before the podcast advertising and again after the podcast campaigns.
From the research, it was discovered that 60% of the PodcastOne listeners remembered at least one brand advertised after the campaign which is a huge increase compared to the 7% in the pre-study. Product awareness also rose 47 % from the pre-study to post-study for financial services products and 37% for automobiles while lawn and garden product awareness increased 24%. Another important finding was that 33% of the respondents had a ‘‘very favorable’’ opinions of automobiles post-study as compared to the 18% in the pre-study.
Speaking during the releasing of the results, Norman Pattiz said that the results were also a validation of their multi-tiered tactic of integrating advertising and measurement. On his part, Tom Webster said that the research confirmed the impact of podcast advertising.
