The Two Hobbies Of COO Paul Herdsman…

NICE Global provides outsourced business services for companies that want to cut costs by outsourcing items such as human resources, inbound sales, and tech support among many other things. COO Paul Herdsman is the entrepreneur that started it all with NICE Global. In the article, “Lessons from Entrepreneur Paul Herdsman”, Herdsman gives effective business lessons which he likes to share to aspiring and established business owners alike can use to be successful like himself.

He’s a very hard working man but he still finds time for fishing and golf as they are his favorite two hobbies since youth.

Fishing and golf are so much more than just hobbies for Paul Herdsman, however. He believes that each of his hobbies has a valuable lesson to teach the businessman participating in them. This is a very refreshing way for a businessman to view his hobbies.

He believes that fishing teaches patience and problem-solving at the same time. This is because there are a number of factors (i.e. what lure to use, when to do it and etc…) that turn the hobbyist into a problem solver. The fact that one has to wait for the potential of a catch most of the time would probably explain his reasoning behind the patience part. View Additional Info Here.

So what two things does Paul believe golf teaches? He believes that the sport of golf teaches the player about strategy and also being honest. This is because one’s sense of integrity seems to be highlighted when playing the game in the correct fashion. It’s a well-known fact that members of the business community exhibit a profound amount of honesty with golf scores; many of them have played since they were children.

Paul didn’t start playing golf until a little later. He had time for fishing since he was a small child, however. Interestingly enough, Mr. Herdsman is in the practice of only participating in each hobby once a week. Each year he’ll take one golf trip where he’ll play for five days straight. The rest of the time…he’s just a hobbyist COO!
