Vinod Gupta Takes A Risk That Paid

Vinod Gupta was born in a small village in India. While growing up, he did not know about electricity or running water. There are many challenges that he faced in his childhood, but he was not ready to use them as an excuse why he would be a failure in life. To him, challenges were a stepping stone that he would use on his way to the top. He would strive to become someone prominent in the community. He went to school and worked very hard. He was invited to attend IIT in India. Gupta proved his academic prowess and got a scholarship to study at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Vinod Gupta never thought that one day he would fly to the United States. His wish finally came true when he was to study agricultural engineering. When leaving his family and his country, he only had $50 to depend on. To him, not even such small matters would make him lose his focus. He was ready to make the difference through hard work and commitment. He was ready to get rid to eradicate poverty and live a great life. Vinod Gupta was driven by the belief that, fortune favors the bold. Talking a risk in life is worth it. He ventured into the United States, not even knowing how he would survive, but he knew the risk was worth it.

Vinod Gupta is the Chairman of Everest Group LLC in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Infogroup, a technology company and started the Vinod Gupta Charitable Foundation.

Today, he considers the step to move to the United States worth the effort. His life would be very much different if he never took that initiative, he would not have been in a position to build the business empire he has today. Everything he has done in the United States has led to his success. He is now using the success to support other young people who are in the same predicament as the one has in many years ago.
